Resumo

The essay explores in detail the strategies and activities (in film production and distribution) of a transnational cinematographic enterprise, Ibérica Films, which was set up in Barcelone in 1933 by a group of German Jewish professionals who had to leave their country and jobs due to Nazi persecutions. The article's basic aim is not only, nor mainly, to assess Iberica's relative weight within the national industry, but, above all, to study its impact on the cinematographic culture, in its entrepreneurial, creative and of habits of reception implications.
