Abstract

This article aims to examine the victim-offender mediation with minors in Spain as a new professional space for Social Work. epistemological and normative bases of mediation It is broken down by reference to the main national and international documents and punishable under Organic Law 5/2000 of Criminal Responsibility of Minors. It starts exposing the legislation that protects mediation as individual roles and competence of Social Workers historical development of social work in conflict management and other docuemntos supporting its intervention especially in the field of criminal mediation. We continue with the description of the role it can play the social worker in this profession, to observe the functions they perform as members of the crew of the juvenile courts when carrying out the measure mediation. And we completed a aproximaxión to the experiment carried out in the Juvenile Courts of Castile and Leon measure of extrajudicial mediation during the years 2012-2014
