Abstract
The aim of this paper is to show the importance of mediation in healthcare organizations and demonstrate the effectiveness of mediating tools in resolving conflicts within health institutions. It also intends to present the role played by mediation and the functions performed by social workers when they act as mediators in the field of health, always based on spaces of dialogue and negotiation to promote coexistence and personal and professional wellbeing. All this is intended to optimize healthcare quality and patient care, this being the main objective of the Spanish health system.
