Resumen

El propósito de este artículo es plantear qué problemas tiene el traductor cuando se enfrenta a una novela tan compleja como Between, de Christine BrookeRose. Escrito en muchas lenguas a la vez, el texto construye la realidad a través de los «significados de segundo nivel», como los llama Roland Barthes, que se desprenden de cada uno de los idiomas utilizados. Por eso mi análisis se fundamenta sobre todo en el concepto de «texto escribible» que el autor francés elabora en S/Z, pero también en el de «monolingüismo del Otro» de Jacques Derrida y el de «nomadismo» de Rosi Braidotti. Se llega así a la conclusión de que la mejor traducción de este texto sería una traducción rizomática (en el sentido de Deleuze), liminal y nunca concluyente.
