Abstract

It seems to be an unquestionable fact that Terminology, known as a group of restricted usage terms in the different areas of knowledge, comprises an essential tool for an optimal transmission of specialized information. It seems to be irrefutable that the development of a terminology runs parallel to the development of the learning area which it represents. If it is true, the test of the terminological system built or accepted by a grammarian, an institution or a school should throw light upon the study of the theoretical system and the methodological bet that supports any treatise on Grammar. The purpose of this study is to make some approaches to the Spanish Royal Academy‟s (Real Academia Española) works through its own history that allows us to offer a meaningful example of the terminological system used by the Institution, in order to evaluate: 1) if this system is useful to transmit the grammatical doctrine in all the stages; 2) if it is a coherent system; 3) if this system is suitable to the different kinds of books published by the Spanish Royal Academy.
