Abstract

The aim of this work is to highlight the challenges currently facing occupational safety and health in order to continue to fulfil its historical and principal role of ensuring that workers perform their respective professional services in the safest and healthiest possible working conditions, taking into account the profound changes that have taken place in recent years in all aspects of the world of work. In particular, the question is whether or not the current model of health and safety at work, adopted by the ILO and the European Union and reflected in the legal reference standards that both organisations have adopted in this field, is still valid in order to continue to provide workers with effective protection of their lives and physical and mental integrity in the new social and labour context
