Zusammenfassung

In this paper, a single-layer economic model predictive control (EMPC) strategy is presented. The objective of the EMPC is to perform the dynamic optimization of the operation of a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP). A non-linear EMPC algorithm has been implemented. The controller cost function represents the operating costs and the violations of maximum admitted levels of ammonium concentration in the effluent. The proposed strategy takes advantage of the variability of the influent load to find alternative operating points that minimize the cost function. Constraints are imposed on critical variables to ensure the conditions that guarantee the appropriate process performance
