Zusammenfassung

To promote the well-being, inclusion and achievement of good personal and academic result for all students has become a main educational goal in several countries. To meet the challenges of this process is necessary to identify individual and environmental factors that affect it. The objectives of this research were: 1) to assess the quality of life and the resilience of elementary school students with and without special educational needs (SEN); (2) to identify personal and environmental variables involved in their well-being and positive development. Participants formed a convenience sample of 78 students attending at ordinary schools, N = 39 (50%) had special educational needs (SEN). The instruments used were Quality of life questionnaire: KIDSCREEN and Child and Youth Resilience Measure: CYRM. Participants had high scores on quality of life and resilience. Students with SEN scored lower than their peers without special needs on perception of internal strengths, psychological family support and school opportunities for resilient growth. We discuss the role of these results to design best practices to promote wellbeing and psychosocial adjustment of all students.
