Abstract

AbstractIn this paper we propose a classroom activity based on objetcs of material culture used in Clas-sical Antiquity as means of recording and communicated written knowledge (papyri, tablets,and ostraca). The activity has a double objective. First, to introduce the students to these tes-timonies of ancient cultures, their most important features and uses. Second, to make themconsider the advantages and downsides of modern, high technology devices, in view of theirancient counterparts, so they can judge the continuity and changes from that cultures to ours.
