Abstract

The main objectives of the present project are to mobilize, train and raise awareness amongprimary and secondary school teachers on the science of Climate Change. We will produceteaching material for a MOOC (Massive Online Open Course) up to date and with scientificrigor. This online course will be developed by the University of Salamanca which has leadingscientific experts to guarantee the scientific rigor of this content. At the same time, educationexperts will support the good design of the materials which will be applicable to the class-rooms and reusable by teachers in their usual teaching activity in primary or secondary educa-tion, in harmony with the current educational law in Spain (LOMCE). The University ofSalamanca through the Digital Production and Innovation Service will produce the MOOCwhich will be later available to all Spanish teacher training center. The course will be availableto all Spanish speaking teachers around the world. If the objective is basically educational, theultimate goal is social: Training citizens with scientific knowledge for a more prepared and re-silient society willing to face the formidable challenge of Climate Change.
