Resumen

In this work we have studied the Pleistocene deposits from the Paleolithic site of Aljezares and from the middle-distal sector of the Vinalopó valley. The whole deposits have similar geological characteristics and they are interpreted as part of a system of semi-endorheic basins that would had been periodically connected and formed by a downstream damming. Two facies associations are described for the basin infill; a central fluvio-lacustrine association surrounded by an alluvial fan and colluvium system. The fluvio-lacustrine association consists of channels and lacustrine deposits whit tufa and aquatic gastropods (Theodoxus fluviatilis and Melanopsis). The alluvial fan and colluvium association is formed by conglomeratic deposits from gravity flows and ephemeral tractive currents, and with terrestrial gastropods from arid environments (Iberus alonensis and Sphincterochila candidissima). In both associations, Paleolithic industry is found and so, these environments would have taken place during the human activity times
