Continuidad de los efectos del maltrato durante la infancia en adolescentes acogidos en centros de protección

Resumen

En este trabajo se evalúa la continuidad de las consecuencias personales y sociales del maltrato vivido durante la infancia en población adolescente acogida en centros residenciales. Para su desarrollo se seleccionaron factores apenas estudiados durante la adolescencia en población maltratada y confirmados como deficitarios en la infancia como consecuencias del maltrato: apego, empatía y expectativas de éxito, autoeficacia y locus de control. Se incluyeron también el apoyo social y la autoestima, dados los resultados contradictorios de trabajos previos. En su análisis se prestó especial atención a la posible influencia que sobre los mismos pueden ejercer las intervenciones en las que se concreta la actuación protectora. En el estudio participaron 111 adolescentes con historia de maltrato y 118 no maltratados. Los resultados muestran que a pesar de la intervención protectora, el desarrollo social y emocional de los adolescentes con experiencia de maltrato sigue presentado dificultades. Se discuten las aportaciones desde el marco de los estudios sobre resiliencia poniendo de relieve la necesidad de realizar intervenciones orientadas específicamente a mitigar las consecuencias del maltrato.
