Due to the importance of boron in the crystallization behavior of granitic systems, several experiments have been carried out to study the distribution of such element in the main minerals from the Peña Negra Anatectic Complex. The application of particle-track technique (α-track images) has demonstrated that this is a suitable tool for the study of the B-bearing minerals modal distribution. However, interferences with tracks produced by the lithium content on the same minerals can lead to a misinterpretation if this technique is not combined with quantitative methods supporting a knowledge of which minerals can accumulate boron from the materials with the studied mineral association.
