Resumen

A geological-geomorphologic study has been carried out in the Theban necropolis of Dra-Abu-El-Naga (XVIII - XX dynasties, 1550-1069 B.C.) within the framework of "The Sacred Landscape of Dra Abu el-Naga" Project. The main aims of this multidisciplinary Project are to determine the reasons that influenced in the organization of this territory and in the election of a tomb's location. With this purpose in mind, a GIS database of the tombs, a microtopographic analysis and a geomorphologic – geological study have been carried out. Regarding this last point, the different actions taken have been: 1) Reconstruction of the original surface; 2) Reconstruction of the visual basin of the tombs; 3) The analysis of lithologic and structural characteristics of host-rock in each tomb. The knowledge of these three characteristics of the physical environment will allow us to answer the main questions stated in the Project
