Abstract
Although La Chana has attracted the attention of several researchers in the past, the site has never been the subject of a monographic study. The main aim of this paper is to offer an up-to-date archaeological review of it. A low cost methodology combining historical aerial photography, modern satellite photography, aerial LiDAR and GIS software has been applied in order to deepen the morphological and functional aspects of its structures. Furthermore, the historiographical debate has been reopened for a better contextualization of this archaeological complex within the Roman military deployment in the Asturia Cismontana during the early Empire.
