Abstract

The relationship between social networks and minors generates an intense debate on some conflicting issues, which require clear criteria to address them. Regarding to the diffusion of images of minors on social networks by those who have parental authority (sharenting), the latest verdicts are reviewed in search of a rule that would allow the excesses of this practice to be controlled. About the consent of the minor as a member of a social network, the problem of its validity is addressed, coordinating the prescriptions established in CC, LOPDH, LOPJM, and LOPD (2018). Finally, the conditions that legitimate accesses to social networks or devices not allowed by minors, to safeguard their best interests, are assessed.
