Abstract

Abstract: Introduction Uncertain origin of chronic adenopathies is a challenge for the clinician due to multiple causes and heterogeneous causes are involved. Etiology Infection signs are usually found. However, in hematological or oncological diseases, adenopathies can be the first sign in appear. Thus, diagnosis should be faster. Empirical treatment should be avoided before diagnosis was established. Diagnosis Personal history (infections and constitutional symptoms) and physical examination (number, location, size, tenderness, time of evolution, splenomegaly) are essential to suspect the disorders. Laboratory assays that includes complete peripheral blood analysis, blood smear and serology must be performed. In addition, other tests should be included in accordance with clinical suspicion (autoimmunity, oncological biomarkers). Biopsy is necessary to confirm the hematological disorder diagnoses. Treatment and prognostic It́s depend on causative diseases.
