Resum

This work describes how retaining walls were built at laboratory scale and how granular soil was simulated by using mctallic rods of different diameters. This material is intended to help students check in a very practical way the theoretical calculations they have made (of the interaction between the soil and retaining walls). This practical testing of theoretical ealeulation will contribute to an increase in student motivation, interest and better understanding. 'l‘he main purpose is to implement an active methodology that faeilitates the aequisition of skills in geoteehnieal engineering courses.
