Resumo

The Ronda peridotite is cut by a swarm of subvertical leucogranite dikes. The peridotite is serpentinized in the contact with the leucogranites due to the hydrothermal alteration caused by the fluids exolved from the leucogranitic magma during its ascent. B content in all the rocks involved in the process is very different: the peridotite is barren in almost all cases, the serpentinized peridotite has low concentrations, and the cutting leucogranites are highly enriched. The low viscosity of the leucogranitic magma, due in part to its high content of B, produced a quick ascent leading sometimes to a slight interaction with the country rock, and although a conspicuous enrichment of B is observed in serpentinite compared to the unaltered peridotite, the increase cannot be compared to the one produced when seawater-peridotite interaction takes place in the serpentinization process.
