Zusammenfassung

The polymetamorphic Complex of Cabo Ortegal is divided into three main units: Limo, Herbeira and Uzal. The dominant rocktype is a highly serpentinized pargasite- spinel (s.l.) -(chlorite)- serpentine-olivine bearing peridotite. However, restricted bodies of dunite in the Herbeira unit constitute a promissing target for Cr exploration. A new finding of disseminated chromite in these rocks is briefly described in this note.
