Abstract
Climate change is one of the most important challenges that humanity faces today. Education must play a fundamental role in understanding the magnitude and importance of the problem, as well as in articulating a just, coherent and coordinated response. Related to this educational challenge, there is a need to train teachers in this subject area and its pedagogy. This communication is mainly focused on describing the design principles and contents of a teacher training course on the science of climate change. The course, offered as MOOC and at the teacher training centers, is based on scientific consensus, presents a positive, contextualized approach, has dynamic and high quality multimedia resources, and uses a simple but rigorous language.
