Abstract

We propose elliptical confidence regions for the Manova-Biplot, instead of the traditionally used confidence circles. These regions are constructed taken into account the sample variability of the representation axes and are based on the mathematical development used by Krzanowski (1989). An application of the theoretical results to a data set, shows that the areas of the ellipses are considerabily greater than the areas of the circles. These suggest that elliptical confidence regions are probabilistically more accurate than the traditional circles.
