Abstract

In the central zone of the Duero Basin, there are rotational landslides affecting large masses of terrain, from the bottom of the valleys (especially the valleys of the Duero and Pisuerga rivers) to the top of the páramos, with up to 150 m of level difference. Although many of these landslides are old and have been inactive, others have a track record of historical activity or have been reactivated recently. In this study, a GPS methodology has been used instead of traditional methods because thus fieldwork is shorter and easier. Moreover, similar accuracy is obtained as long as the correct methods for observation and data treatment are used. This paper presents the results of movement control in several landslides from 2004 till July 2007. This research resumes a previous study and present results show a decrease of movement in comparison with the period between 2002 and 2004
