Abstract

The structural analysis of rocks and regions demands the detailed study of rock outcrops for an accurate acquisition of qualitative and quantitative geological information. However, the limitation to access areas of interest results difficult and expensive, in general, due to the presence of steep slopes or excessive vegetation that complicates the structural analysis. New technologies such as the drones, geomatic tools and sensors aim at digital acquisition of outcrop information, providing high resolution digital models of folds and faults. These type of tools provide accurate and relevant three -dimensional data for analysis of rock deformation. In addition, the recreation of 3D photorealistic models can be used for educational purposes and diffusion of geological heritage. We present the structural study of the Llumeres fold (Asturias) using UAV -assisted photogramm
