Resum
This article explains how weblogs have changed the role of Venezuelan journalists. Using a qualitative-descriptive approach, on-line surveys and a descriptive register, the motivations that impel the Venezuelan communicators to create their blogs, their activities, the uses and efforts they have developed to become digitally competent are studied. Results indicate that journalists communicating in the blogosphere express the need for autonomy and initiative as blog authors. Results also show that their use of interactive multimedia tools is minimal and limited by deficiencies in their digital training.
