Abstract

After fi fteen years of belonging to the OECD, and having lived numerous changes, Mexico continues in its fi ght to elevate itself and to become a solid and stable country; but there are still many challenges to face. There are yet many profound modifi catios to be made, especially in order to build actual mechanisms of transparency and accountability that allows to encapsulate the corruption that has corroded public confi dence and has become an obstacle to the consolidation of the state and its institutions. Belonging to a group like the OECD has helped foster a large number of reforms that have been implemented over the years; for that reason it will be interesting to make a summary of these reforms and to analyze these political and social circumstances which have been the scene of its development. Thus, countries like Chile have decided to add itself to this organization; perhaps reading about the Mexican experience may serve as a guideline to promote germination dynamics in building stronger institutions conducive to development and equitable growth of the Chilean State.
