Zusammenfassung

This paper is focused on the numerical modelling of the tensile fracture process in notched samples of progressively drawn pearlitic steel. Different “V”-notches samples were used in order to generate distinct triaxial states (constraint) in the vicinity of the notch tip. The wires used in this work were taken from diverse stages of a real drawing chain, including the initial hot rolled bar (not cold drawn), the commercial prestressing steel wire (heavily drawn) and two intermediate steps of the manufacturing process by means of strain hardening. To this end, the finite element method (FEM) in elastic-plastic regime with large strains was used. Different internal variables (axial stress, hydrostatic stress, effective or equivalent stress in the von Mises sense, triaxiality and equivalent plastic strain) were analyzed to establish the stress-strain state in the sample.
