Abstract
Thanks to artificial intelligence, we try to measure the impact of words from the lexical field of the water in Marcel Pagnol’s Manon des Sources. The article includes a lexicometric and textometric study generated by linguistic analysis software in which words and their contexts are studied in order to achieve the most precise interpretation. Our aim is to carry out a comparative study of the potential of computer and human reasoning. During this study, we try to discover the frequency and the effectiveness of the machine in correctly and coherently analysing extracts from the book, Manon des Sources. Our main goal is to show points of convergence and divergence in order to verify how useful and effective the tool could be in the area of education, and more precisely, in teaching French language and literature.
