Abstract

This paper presents the process of design, development, implementation and preliminary assessment of RECURSAL-Innovative Learning Project, which has been settled up at the Faculty of Geography and History (Universidad de Salamanca, Spain) by an interdisciplinary team of faculty members. RECURSAL is a website which gathers electronic and on-line resources for teaching History, History of the Arts and Geography. It has been developed by faculty members, experienced in methodological or source-related subjects taught for long time at the Faculty. The new Bachelor Programs in History, History of the Art, Humanities and Geography launched under the framework of the European Space of Higher Education all include subjects that all Faculty alumni must follow, so RECURSAL has been conceived as a very useful teaching tool for the whole Faculty attendants. This paper also develops the internal structure of RECURSAL, its possibilities for teaching and learning, along with a first assessment of its usefulness during the term 2011-2012 and the subsequent updates included by the teaching staff, namely the improvement of the database search engine and the cooperation with the Faculty of Philosophy.
