Resumo

New approaches to training and education at University level as collaborative teaching and learning processes require assessment methods to develop at the same pace. In this new environment, the Learning Portfolio is seen as an especially adequate method for didactic approaches in which the student plays an active role and has the main responsibility as regards his/her learning process. This paper identifies the main features of this tool, which is both a resource for learning and for (self-)assessment, and describes the methodology and outcomes of its application in the training of specialized translation, with a critical assessment of its didactic usefulness.
