Resum
We present a systematic work experience in the subjects of strength of materials, from a script oriented small group. They must make a structural assembly in which forces and moments must be applied, and displacements measured at various points of the model. The group must collect measures characteristics, geometry, applied loads and displacements, which, together with the information provided by the teacher. They will develop analytical calculations base on the theory of strength of materials, particularly energy theorems and virtual work. The students must compare measurements made in the laboratory with the numerical results. This procedure approximate the student to real work situations, to develop competencies and to apply the theory of strength of materials and structural design, while design and calculation tools like Matcad ® may be helpful in his future.
