Resum
This article presents a diagnosis of territorial and occupational factors that determine transport to the workplace, describing the modal distribution of travel in the Balearic Islands. At the same time, the environmental repercussions of travel to the workplace are evaluated, thus raising the need to redirect this form of travel by encouraging more environmentally-friendly practices. Alternative proposals include the excellent opportunities generated by the management of this type of demand for transport. These alternative plans would benefit workers, businesses and society as a whole.
