Resum
The Lorca earthquake of May 11, 2011 generated different deformation structures affecting the Cultural Heritage buildings of this city. All of these structures are Earthquake Archaeological Effects (EAEs) and they have been classified and analyzed by geological structural analysis. Accordingly, we can estimate the orientation of the maximum horizontal strain (ey). The mean orientation of ey obtained in this case is NW-SE. It was observed also that the deformations generated during the historical earthquake of 1674AD, show very similar characteristics and even the same orientation of ey , being most of these structures reactivated by the earthquake of 2011. This could indicate that the Lorca-Totana segment of the Alhama de Murcia Fault triggered both earthquakes, both featured by similar values of seismic intensity, close affected area, type of building damage and EAE trending.
