Abstract

The objective of this study is to analyze the psychometric properties of diagnostic accuracy and predictive power of the scale of simulation or deception (ODecp) of Nichols Greene (1991) to detect people who tries to give a good image or to minimize their symptoms through the MMPI-2-RF. Two groups were selected radomly: the control group was composed by 309 participants who answered the questionnaire according to the established instructions of sincerity and honesty (sincere), and the experimental group was composed by 278 participants who were properly instructed to give a positive and favorable image of themselves (simulators) in order to get a benefit. The comparative analyses, carried out through ROC (Receiver Operating Characteristics) curve, with the l-r and k-r scales, proved being an excellent scale to detect the good image simulation in the MMPI-2-RF.
