Abstract
The concept of voice in grammar is a controversial issue; that is due to the doctrinal divergence which has already conceived since Graeco-Roman world. This paper doesn’t intend to add doctrine or to take up position in the discussion. Our purpose is otherwise: it attempts to recover some of causes that contribute the controversy, that is, historiographic non-exhaustive immersion in the theoretical origins of the concept and the term voice in Spanish, Latin and Greek grammars.
