Abstract

The first part of the text focuses on the analysis of Sky Hook (Study for a Ballon Building) (1978), a project by Gordon Matta-Clark about the construction of a respectful architecture with a planet submitted to overexploitation. For this, I examine the floating structures that were devised in the USSR throughout the 20s of the last century. Utopian projects that Peter Fend, as assistant of Matta-Clark, investigated for the formalization of Sky Hook. In the second part I expose the link between Sky Hook and the work A Thermodynamic Imaginary (2018) byTomás Saraceno exposed at the MAAT of Lisbon in 2018. Saraceno proposes solutions to prevent the exploitation of fossil resources from different proposals of aircraft within the optics of the Anthropocene. Saraceno continues Matta-Clark’s approach from the perspecti- ve of what he has coined as Aerocene.
