Abstract

This work be focused on the study of mosaics with hunting representations documented in the Hispania villae, analyzing the information from the numerous sources available for this period, in which hunting is presented as an activity of great importance in the daily life of the Ro-man elites. e objective of this study to analyze artistic representations in hunting scenes where violence appears as a symbol of daily life in Roman society and ways of life, enriching the analysis of these mosaics with the comments of the authors of the period. e presence of hunting in the mosaics is an artistic reÀection of a fundamental activity in the daily life that leads us to raise the idea of whether hunting is a need or a social function of the wealthiest classes.
