Abstract

This paper introduces Restorative Justice as an appropriate model of criminal justice in order to deal with theft in Brazilian criminal law. Based on the criminological features of this criminal offence, so closely related to the Country’s social context, this model is set out as a new and alternative paradigm within the framework of criminal law guarantees. It is also included a brief review on the Restorative Justice Draft Law and the role of the University both in the de-bate and implementation of Restorative Justice in Brazil
