Abstract

The synthesis of 3-phenylthio-2-oxopropylidene triphenyl phosphorane 1 has been carried out starting from 1-3-dichiroacetone. This compound reacts with several aldehydes to afford the α, β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds in high yields
