Registros nuevos de arañas (Araneae) de la provincia de Ourense (Galicia, España)

Abstract

We list the spiders (Araneae) collected at several localities in Ourense province between June 16 and 22, 2017 and previous collecting efforts. A total of 249 specimens belonging to 38 species, 14 genera and 5 dyonicha families (Cheiracanthiidae, Miturgidae, Philodromidae, Phrurolithidae y Thomisidae) were collected. 37 species are first records from Ourense, which doubles the number of the province’s recorded species, and 25 are new to Galicia. Among them, we highlight Xysticus tortuosus (the first record from Spain), Zora nemorais (respectively first and second Spanish records), and Thanatus coloradensis (second Iberian record). Taxonomic, biological and ecological data on the species found are given and habitus photographs and genitalia of some species are provided. The aim of this paper is to raise awareness about the importance of carrying out field work to contribute to a better knowledge of Iberian spiders.
