Abstract
This paper looks at some of the Lancashire texts hitherto included in the Salamaca Corpus, with a viewto illustrating how this might contribute to bridging some of the gaps still existing in the field of Englishdiachronic dialectology. For this purpose, the paper provides a preliminary diachronic insight intomorphological issues related to the use of was/were in the county of Lancashire.
