Abstract

Access to [ustice is an essential instrumental right, since ir acts as an basic element ro enforce the other rights. In relation to people with disabilities, ir means being able to use legal mechanisms under equal conditions, which wiU favor the exercise of their rights. It will be essential to make «procedural accornmodations», which seek to adapt actions and procedures so that the justice environment responds to the needs of each person wirh a disabiliry, thus reducing obstacles and avoiding defenselessness. They are introduced into civil ptoceedings through the new art. 7 bis LEC and the identical precept incorporated inro the LJV Two recent rulings of the Constitutional Court can be seen as tacidy allowing for adjustments in civil proceedings.
