Abstract
In 1929, The Skeleton Dance became the first of a long series of Silly Symphonies developed by Walt Disney and his team, taking advantage of the phenomenon of the talkies. Since that moment, synchronizing music with movement, the expression and feelings of the images, became nearly the main objective of Disney productions. This, combined with the magic and the high quality of the movies, their short duration, arguments easy to understand and thematic diversity of the stories, turn this series of animated shorts into an attractive educational tool which will serve to study and recognize elements of musical language and of animation history, to make music performances, and to promote students' motivation in relation to the great works of the History of Music.
