This communication describes the experience of a new space the University of Salamanca, named MEDIALAB USAL. This place, where art, science and society merge, has among its objectives the educational innovation based on the use of digital technologies, the promotion of creativity and the fostering of collaborative work. In our society, the emergence of new digital technologies with potential applications to improvement of teaching / learning processes is a continuum, not an isolated one-off event. This means that innovation must become an essential part of the educational activity and, consequently, that stable facilities and procedures should be established by the universities to experiment with technology innovations and to allow their transfer. The MediaLab of the University of Salamanca is conceived as a space where to experiment with emerging technologies and their possible artistic, social and educational applications. It is, therefore, a new learning space committed to the exploration of emerging digital technologies and their innovative applications. We describe briefly here its philosophy, the types of activities that are carried out and the methodology of work, that have allowed the development of multiple collaborative and multidisciplinary projects.
