Resumo

The understanding of how frustration influences different cognitive, behavioral and/or emotional processes in people with different levels of aggression trait is important for a better understanding of the pathology characterized it. The objective of this investigation was to evaluate and compare the influence of frustration over the attentional efficiency and the affection in two groups of young people with different trait aggression levels. The task used was the Posner attencional affective task based in the presentation of a stimulus that facilitates the location of a sencond stimulus that may appear in the same or in a diferent location than the facilitating stimulus, followed by a feedback that may be exact or manipulated. The results suggest that a high level of trait agression may cause a marked loss of attentional efficiency in frustrating situations as well as a higher emotional impact in aggressive people.
