Abstract

This research plan expects to present the aims and hypothesis, the methodology and thesuccession of systematic actions that will be carried out to developed the future DoctoralThesis, within Doctoral Programme of Salamanca University: “Education in theknowledge Society”. This research plan is located within one of the lines of the researchgroup in "Educational Evaluation and Guidance" which goal is to improve the level ofstudent learning at the end of the period of compulsory education in Spain. The presentstudy is classified within the movements; School Effectiveness and EducationalImprovement, which have been treated separately, although currently, the research isinclined towards the integration of both perspectives. From these models of analysis ofeducational centers, we will detect a series of good practices that distinguish high efficacyschools, from which to create effectiveness models’ that can demonstrate improvements inschools that do not get their students to learn, in spite of collecting the sufficient resources.After making a review of the literature emerged with this movement, we found thatattention to special needs students in schools is a strong indicator in relation to schooleffectiveness. Thus, our research will focus on this factor, as a promoter of improvementand effectiveness in schools.
