Abstract
Asthma is a multifactorial disease characterized by bronchial hyperresponsiveness and inflammation associated with airway obstruction episodes. Genetics is considered to play an essential role in the etiopathogenesis of the disease. The aim of this book is to provide the scientific community with a useful resource to study the molecular genetics in asthma. This book will guide the reader from the basic application of molecular genetics to the more complex gene expression analysis by using different models of study. Since asthma is a com- plex disease, this book is designed in six different sections to provide a review of the most useful techniques with examples of their applications in specific laboratory protocols
