Abstract

The information provided by the biomarkers extracted from the sediments recovered in the bottom of Venta Micena stratigraphic section, together with poIlen data and supported by studies about its fauna (ostracodes and vertebrates), indicate that this area was constituted in a low-saline and shallow lacustrine-palustrine environment with stagnant waters surrounded by high-plants (pinacea and dicotyledoneus) under warm and arid climatic conditions.
