Resumen

Despite the fact that one of the most outstanding aesthetic premises of Italian Neo-Avant-Garde, which arises and develops during the 60s in the 20th century, is its objection to traditional literature and to its poetic language, in this paper I present the real position of many Neo-Avant-Garde artists, who see the Italian classical literature and especially Dante as a source of inspiration and learning. This is particularly the case of Edoardo Sanguineti, but also Alfredo Giuliani, Nanni Balestrini, Antonio Porta and Elio Pagliarani, who recreate and use Dantesque works to insert Dante’s ideas and stylistic forms and resources in their own productions.
