Abstract
The extent and scope of the economic exchanges between Spain and Portugal has been neglected during the last years despite the major transformations undergone after they became members of the European Union. The article intends to build a deeper mutual knowledge by deepening into the study of those exchanges before and after 1986. Both national economies have restructured their foundations and have also strengthened their connections so far. Actually, mutual interdependence is about to support the constitution of a true Iberian market.
